About Gary Felton

Gary Felton is not only a photographer, but also a creative expert. Earning a degree in photography from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California in 1973, Gary has accumulated over 30 years of experience as an advertising/fashion specialist. Opening an advertising photography studio In Los Angeles In 1974, Gary went on to be a well-regarded photographer for his advertising and architectural photography work. During the same period of time he also won 14 major awards for his underwater photography, a favorite pastime of his. His love of the sea finally brought him to the Caribbean In 1986, where he operated charter sailing yachts and continued his photography of the sea. Needing to be even more involved in photography Gary opened another studio here on St. Thomas in 1999. During his tenure here on the island, Gary has gone on to win numerous gold medals from the Virgin Islands Ad Club for not only his photography but also his design work. He now brings all this knowledge and skill together in a client oriented wedding photography service here in the Virgin Islands. | In addition to creating quality images, our studio is also committed to maintaining high professional standards. In order to make sure we're doing that, I participate in the Certified Professional Photographer program. While there are several technical requirements for being Certified... probably the best way I can explain it is to compare it to the difference between a regular doctor and one who is Board Certified. While you can assume that both of them have a certain level of knowledge, the Certified doctor has been tested - and the certifying agency takes steps to ensure that the doctor continues to add to his or her expertise through education. It's the same way with photographers. As a Certified photographer, you can be assured that I possess enough technical knowledge of my art to consistently create good images for you - and I continue to take education courses in order to maintain my technical and creative edge. |
